The East Co-Generation Plant currently has two Cooper-Bessemer 20-cylinder engine generators each rated at 6.3 Mega-Watts (MW) and two Wartsila engines rated at 3.8 MW each, all engines have a heat recovery system. Currently the Wartsila’s are awaiting control upgrades and maintenance repairs.

The East Plant supplies the campus with three HTHW generators. The HTHW generators are forced draft, water tube-type generators that supply the East Campus with a design temperature of 400°F water. HTHW is distributed to the East Campus via four (4) distribution pumps.

The East Chilled Water Plant operates with an installed rated capacity of 8,500 tons of electrically based chilled water generation. The plant includes a six-cell, field-erected, counter flow cooling tower that is located north of the plant at grade behind a 12-foot-tall screen wall.
